I met one of my creative goals early this year and finally opened my Etsy shop, Cordial Curios!
Last year, after buying a couple of t-shirts as Christmas gifts, I started thinking…why not just make my own t-shirts and other products with exactly what I want on them? So I began experimenting with creating my own graphics, and decided to get into print-on-design.
At the moment, it’s all t-shirts, but I intend to expand into other products such as totes, stickers, and mugs if there is enough demand for them. So if you see a design you like but maybe want it on something other than a t-shirt, let me know!
It is my intention to sell my designs on only the highest-rated items that I have tested myself. Currently, where possible, each design is available on one unisex t-shirt, one women’s fitted t-shirt, and one cropped raglan t-shirt.
About the Designs
If you’ve spent any time around here, I don’t think you’ll be too surprised by the kinds of things you’ll find at Cordial Curios. You’ll see dreamy and wistful vibes, dryly absurd British-style humor, dark academia and pastoral/cottagecore aesthetics, and vintage art rescued from obscurity. The sentiments and wit are largely my own (sometimes borrowed or shared). And I will be constantly adding to it as the ideas continue to flow, so peek in from time to time to see what’s new or on sale!
Categories
In my shop, you can currently find products in the following categories (with a few examples shown from each one):
Art Appreciation: These are curated art pieces presented museum-gallery-style with the title, year, and artist credited. (At the time of writing this, they are all Blanche Fisher Wright illustrations from 1916’s The Real Mother Goose, but there are more to come.)
Curly Hair: Since I’m a natural wavy, I made several designs celebrating natural curly/wavy hair. (Check here for my guide on getting started with the Curly Girl Method!)
Curiosities: Odd, whimsical, or delightfully strange designs that resist neat categorization.
Literary: All of these pertain in some way to books/reading/writing.
