When we two newlyweds were headed to the airport in Atlanta on Saturday morning, I saw a random guy walking down the street in a robe of some sort. I was trying to place what kind of robe it was. My first thought was maybe he was a judge, but that didn’t seem right–I didn’t think they went wandering down the street in robes on Saturdays. My next thought was that maybe he was headed to a D&D game dressed as a wizard. Without any other clues, I settled on this and tried to stop wondering about it so the absurdity of it didn’t drive me crazy.
A moment later, another guy in a robe appeared, this time wearing a flat hat and carrying a degree of some sort. I said out loud, “OHH, so they aren’t wizards!”
The new husband laughed so hard at me. “Oh, they aren’t wizards, huh?”
“No, they’re graduates!”
“I’m glad you cleared that up for me! How would I ever have known they weren’t wizards otherwise?”
