Never Say Never Again, while entertaining, was suuuch a confusing–but cleverly titled–addition to the Bond films. Though I believe I enjoyed it more than Thunderball, which I fell asleep through and barely remember watching.
To be fair to Thunderball, I seem to be interchanging bits of all the Bond films in my head and completely forgetting which movie contained what scenes. It’s all very repetitive, honestly.
With the Connery films now done, and only one Moore to go, I feel confident in saying that while Connery is still my favorite Bond, due to his having what I perceive as more charm (I think that all comes down to him smiling more often than Moore), I actually enjoyed the Moore films more.
The Lazenby one is still my favorite Bond film thus far.
The fact that Moneypenny is continuing to age while Bond is about to presumably get younger again with whomever comes next is making me increasingly anxious. My brain is having trouble rationalizing his remaining roughly the same age over the decades while the series continues as though it isn’t a reboot every time.
ETA: It seems I was working from an incorrect assumption; I thought I had heard that the same Moneypenny actress continued in the films right up until the 2000s. So that’s a relief.
