What I Rented from Rent the Runway in May 2026

•

I’d been giving some thought to joining Rent the Runway for quite some time now, and finally decided to take the plunge. If you don’t know about Rent the Runway (or RTR), it’s a monthly subscription service that allows you to rent clothing and ship it back, so your closet is always in rotation, you get to try out new looks, and you have less laundry to do. If you’d like to try it out, you can use my link to get 50% off your first month.

Here’s what came in my first shipment.

Tommy Hilfiger Preppy Plaid Blazer

This one was super comfy and lightweight for dashing through the airport on a business trip. The deep pockets in the front were perfect for holding a plane ticket and a set of Earplanes.

Already I found an item I am reluctant to give back! It was so comfortable and such a flattering fit that I want to wear it again and again. I think I am going to hang onto it for a while.

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about either the shoulder pads or the cut on this one, but once I had it on, I really liked it!

Thakoon x RTR Pinstripe Cargo Pants

I loved these! They were a lush, thick material that was perfect for a trip up north and were so flattering! There are deep pockets on the sides at mid-thigh that you could comfortably fit a whole phone into if you needed to. The one thing I didn’t like was that they were cropped a bit high, like so many other pants today, so I had ankles and shins popping out when I sat down.

Unfortunately, this didn’t fit properly in my standard size. The sleeve length was perfect, but the overall look was boxy, oversized, and mannish, and my husband said it looked like it needed to be taken in several times! I’m curious to size down next time and see if it’s just the brand.
