Here’s What I Shazam’d Last Year

I was always super jealous of people’s Shazam app, but for some reason never felt like downloading it myself. I guess I just really didn’t want yet another app crowding my phone. But late in 2022, I finally caved. Now I’m constantly whipping out the app. Anytime I’m watching TV or at a restaurant or somewhere and can’t readily identify the song, I’m grabbing for the app on my phone. Maybe I love the song or the singer’s voice or just think, ‘Oh, that’s pretty’, or maybe I hate it. Maybe I’ve heard it a million times but am blanking on the title or artist’s name or want to know who does this cool cover. Maybe I’m watching a movie so old or obscure I’m simply curious whether Shazam will have any record of it. For whatever reason, I started collecting Shazams and am never going back.

So now I have this random playlist made up largely of things I wasn’t often or ever listening to and no idea of where much of it came from. What to do with it? Why, showcase it, of course! Here’s everything from 2023 (and a few from 2022) in order of Shazam. Maybe you’ll find something new or long-forgotten in all the randomness.
