Lookbook: In San Marco with the Dress of Many Colors

Here’s a fun number I found in the 1940s section of Unique Vintage. If you enjoy clothes inspired by other eras, this is a great shop that lets you browse by decade. I was wowed by the color scheme on this one. But I was completely sold when I came across a review that said it reminded the reviewer of something you would see an actress wear if she were playing the part of a teenager in a stage production set in that era. Having grown up a theatre kid, and being an old soul, this spoke so perfectly to my personality.

The rose-colored Oxfords are from ModCloth, another vintage-inspired shop. The company that makes them is called Wanted, and they are so comfortable I actually have them in three different colors. A pair of charcoal grey stockings to offset everything completed the look.

The leaf-shaped brooch I’m wearing in honor of autumn is real vintage–it belonged to my grandmother, who would have been about my age in the 1940s.

This was my first shoot with Milos from MB85 Photography. He is such a professional, and we had a great time strolling through the San Marco area of Jacksonville on a cooler day. And I mean, just look at the colors and lighting!

My makeup was the brilliant work of Kaitlin Francois.

I played with my hair that day a lot. (In my defense, it was a great day for the curls.)
