Lookbook: Autumn 2020

Probably around 80% of my closet is made up of things I can only wear in January and February. I certainly can’t wear them in autumn, when the temperature is in the 90s here in Florida. I love, love, love to layer! I own so many sweaters, jackets, scarves, tights, and boots I would love to be able to show off, but they rarely have a chance to see the light of day. So this winter, long after autumn had already passed, I made sure to pull out several different layered looks to showcase all in one day.

Look 1

I just adore these colors together. These pink skinny pants are from Maurice’s. The chunky evergreen-colored sweater, I got while shopping at Nordstrom in Chicago. And let me tell you, it was warm enough to keep me nice and toasty even in Chicago in October! I bought a berry-colored one as well because I liked it so much. I’ve also taken it to Michigan at Christmastime and Virginia in October, and it keeps me warm everywhere I go. Love it–so cute and cozy!

Look 2

This overized pumpkin-spice-colored cowl neck sweater came from Unique Vintage. Or ModCloth–I actually can’t remember which. It is so soft and comfortable. I got this adorable plaid skirt with perfectly-matching accents in high school. I have no idea where. It’s quite short, so now I only wear it paired with thick tights or leggings. The grey suede boots came from Target.

Look 3

I got this cute navy-and-lavender-striped top, and a green and white one just like it, when I happened to stumble upon a Gap store closing in Winter Park, Florida. I looove both, but there’s almost never a right time to wear them in Florida. At least sweaters I can get away with as an extra, removable layer when I’m inside air-conditioned locations. But I get to take these out only rarely. I paired this with blue jeans and Converse for a casual look. The scarf and leather jacket are both thrift, and quickly became much too hot on this January day in Florida.

Look 4

I love these colors. The pink-and-black-striped three-quarter-sleeve shirt came from Target. You can’t see it, but there is the cutest little black and gold bumble bee on the left breast, made of sequins arranged to resemble a brooch. It had a wonderful vintage feel I couldn’t resist. The scarf is thrift, and the lovely A-line skirt was a purchase from Allume (may it rest in peace).
